How We Assist Seniors - A 95 year-old gentleman, living alone in his home, has a housekeeper who comes over every day to cook and clean. He has no family in town; his short term memory is severely impaired. He is able to walk, shower and dress by himself. He does not know what day it is, what city he in his, or where he lives, he begins to look for his car. He goes out of his house and wanders off, is picked up by neighbors, who were able to bring him home. A few days later he locks himself out of his house, the locksmiths are called in. Adult Care Hunters assessed the gentleman in his home, showed him some assisted living options, which he did not agree to. This gentleman is no longer able to make decisions for himself; he has no insight into his deficits. Adult Care Hunters was in contact with the family out of state and directed them to working with an Elder Law Attorney to obtain guardianship. Once guardianship was in place Adult Care Hunters was able to have the gentleman admitted into a secured memory community which was of the caliber he was accustomed to. We also directed the family to a moving company who was able to pack his belongings and move his furniture. Adult Care Hunters then made two follow up visits with the gentleman and contacted the family with updates.

Trust & Praise

"Thank you both for
your wonderful
assistance & guidance
as I explored memory
care options for my
Mom. You're both very
caring, supportive and
you know your stuff! A
simple 'thank you'
seems so inadequate."
